RUN FOR HUMANITY Canacona Taluka Road race organised by Canacona Sports & Cultural club in association with Mandovi Parivar and Goa Athletic Association was successful in grand way.
Altogether 124 athlets from Canacona Taluka participated in the two age groups wise U-16 years and A-16 years in boys and girls section. 46 girls and 79 boys participated in the same.
The organiser thanked the athlets for participation and parents for their support even after covid pandemic. The race was organised on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti and prime minister Shri Narendra Modi's Fit India Movement.
Following prizes were awarded in each category.
U-16 girls: winner saili Velip, Tudal high school, 2nd place Pradnya Gosavi, Shradhanand high school, 3rd place Gulabi Velip, Govt, H/s Gaodongri, 4th place Siya Gaonkar, Balram H/s, 5th place Diksha Velip, Govt H/s, Khotigao.
In U-16 boys winner
Pranay Velip, Shradhanand H/s, 2nd place Rohan Daikar, Balram H/s, 3rd place Nilesh Gaonkar Shradhanand H/s, 4th place Aakash Sasnur, Mallikarjun H/s. 5th place Jatin Lambor Shradhanand H/s.
In A-16 Girls winner is Seeta Gosavi, Mallikarjun College,
2nd place Sajjan Gaonkar, Balram HSS. 3rd place Sapna Gaonkar, 4th place Bhavna Velip both Mallikarjun college, and 5th place Saili Gaonkar ITI Canacona. In A-16 boys winner is Sulesh Velip, Mallikarjun College, 2nd place Suraj Sharma, S. S. Angle HSS. 3rd place Roshan Sudhir, Mallikarjun College, 4th place Vishal Velip, ITI, canacona
5th place Gauresh Velip, Gaodongri.
The winners were honoured with certificate, medals and cash.
The chief guest for the prize presentation function was Shri Sachin Naik, sarpanch vp Loliem Polem. Also present were Shri Pavir Bhandari, Panch Paingin Panchayat, Shri Shripad Kundaikar, Shri Guru Sawant, Shri Akhil Parrikar shri Durgesh Gaonkar shri Savio Laitao Shri Devraj, Shri Avdoot, from Goa Athletic association. Shri Sharendra Naik welcomed the guests and players, while Venkatray Naik proposed vote of thanks, the function was compared by Sajjan Gaonkar.
