Holistic Development

Utmost care is taken for the health and hygiene of the pupils. Valuable guidance for child care is provided to parents through various activities conducted by the school P.T.A.

All staff knows and cares about the students and encourages their individual development. Strong social and moral codes are part of school life with politeness, tolerance and hard work being the norm. 

Regular classwise assemblies are held to disseminate information and provide opportunities for pupils to give presentations that they have prepared. Care is taken to ensure that each pupil participates in the assemblies since feeling confident is crucial for personality development.

To encourage reading beyond the limits of the syllabus library is accessible to students during and after school hours. A wide range of books in Konkani, Marathi, Hindi and English can be found in the library. A collection of educational CDs are also used by teachers for illustrating concepts. Many local dailies and national dailies are bought for the library.  We also subscribe to many Children’s Magazines. Reading groups are formed to monitor pupil’s progress in reading.

Various extracurricular and sports activities help to instil in all pupils an understanding of the need to remain fit and active throughout their lives and not just when they are at school. It assists the socialisation of the pupils by providing co-operative and competitive situations in which they work together, help each other and share experiences, and thereby learn true sportsmanship.

One of the annual programmes being Post-examination Holistic Child Development Programme which is carefully planned keeping in view the needs of pupils in rural areas. It facilitates nurturing of latent talents amongst pupils. To foster musical interest music classes are conducted after school hours. Such activities go a long way in enhancing the self esteem of students The school has kept itself abreast of new trends in education through the introduction of Educational Technology in classroom teaching. Equipment like the slide projector, LCD projector, a coloured television, PCs with multimedia and internet facility and a variety of musical instruments are a part of the Audio Visual Room. Use of educational software is made on regular basis to help students grasp difficult concepts.

Academic Achievement

Shri Nirakar School has a reputation in the taluka for academic success. This year it has achieved a 84.21% pass percentage at S.S.C.E Goa Board of Secondary and Hr. Sec Education/The school's standards of teaching and discipline are supplemented by extensive extra curricular and sports activities. Extra time is devoted to assist pupils in coping with their academic problems. Children are encouraged to speak in English within the school campus.

Swadheen Lend - A - Hand

IBT (Introduction to Basic Technology) has been introduced under the project Swadheen by Lend –A –Hand India, (LAHI ) a New York based NGO having its national office at Pune. It is a job and life skills programme. IBT module equips the students in variety of basic technical skills through learning by doing method. It helps in better understanding of the academic subject such as Maths and Science and there by enables him to acquire skills required for future studies or entrepreneurship.

The school is committed to ensuring that everyone within the school community has a better understanding of sustainability and the global environment. We create awareness amongst students of how our actions today will affect the world’s resources in the future.

We emphasize on imparting educational values ,fostering positive attitude and above all holistic development of pupils so that they are prepared for adult life.
